Britannia Lanes of Cornwall is a family-owned removals company based in Truro. We offer a wide range of removal and storage services in Cornwall and the surrounding areas of Falmouth, St Austell, Plymouth and Penzance.

We are part of the Lanes Group, which also includes Lanes of Devon, Somerset and Bristol, and was established over 40 years ago. From small beginnings with just one vehicle and a storage depot, the Britannia Lanes group has expanded to become a major removal company in the South West. Lanes of Cornwall has become the number one storage, removal and shipping company in the Plymouth and Cornwall area, boasting a 60,000sq ft depot and 20 vehicles out on the roads. Our UK and international shipping divisions deal with thousands of removals each year, both within the UK and all over the world, so if you let Britannia Lanes handle your removal, you know you’ll be in safe, experienced hands.

Accreditations and associations

We’re members of both the British Association of Removers (BAR) and the Self Storage Association (SSA). We have also been accredited by QSS for qualifying for the European Standard for Removals BSEN 12522 and the European Standard for Storage BSEN 14873. The Lanes group joined Britannia Movers International (BMI) in 1989, resulting in a significant enhancement to both UK and international removals. We have also worked with various large organisations in the local area including the NHS Royal Cornwall Hospital.

Local ties

The whole team at Britannia Lanes is keen to get involved with local activities and it has resulted in us sponsoring Perranwell Football Club. We also do a lot of fundraising and have been involved with both the RNLI and the Alzheimer’s Society – supporting them on both a local and national level. We have invested in our local storage and office complex in Truro, redeveloping it in 2003. The new site offers integrated facilities that have allowed us to become the flagship site not only for Britannia Lanes, but for the whole removals and storage industry.
