Get the most out of the storage unit with this guide:
- Generally heavier boxes should be placed on the bottom preventing boxes collapsing under weight
- Mark the outside of boxes with what they contain; this will make finding items if required much easier if necessary.
- Try to use boxes that are all the same size and you will make stacking them much easier.
- When stacking your items, ensure you leave gangways in between the stack to allow you to access any box easier should you need to retrieve something specific.
- Dismantle furniture if possible saving space.
- Soft furnishings should be protected with adequate packaging to prevent and damage
- NB: Even though our external storage units are weather proof, if anything you choose to store is slightly damp mould or mildew could happen and subsequently can affect your other items
- If storing fridges or freezers, ensure they have been completely defrosted and cleaned before storing. Store with the fridge or freezer door open to prevent mold.
