Transit TimesGroupage or share load consignments to Cyprus will usually take 6 to 9 weeks door to door, depending on volumes being shipped, immigration delays and prevailing weather conditions. Sole use containers normally take 3 to 6 weeks, and there is a weekly service to Limasol. |

Living in Cyprus
While Cyprus hasn't always been a popular tourist and expat destination, political, infrastructural and economic changes in the last decades have transformed Cyprus into a tourist hotspot. The country has a rich culture with Greek, Turkish and Arab influences, and a history going back thousands of years. Those travelling to Cyprus will enjoy a hot climate, stunning architecture, exciting trips inside the country and will get used to a slightly different, more relaxed pace of life.
Cyprus is situated in the Mediterranean Sea, east of Turkey, and west of Syria and Lebanon. The country gained independence from the United Kingdom in the 1960s, and has a mixed population of 77% Greek Cypriots, 18 % Turkish Cypriots and some other ethnic groups. It is separated into two parts, the Republic of Cyprus in the south and the Turkish-controlled area in the north, this latter only recognized officially by Turkey. Cyprus nowadays has a developed and diversified economy, with a per capita GDP above the average in the EU. The country can also boast a very high Human Development Index, an excellent public education system and high life expectancy.
While there are still some significant economic differences between the south and the north, Cyprus has a growing economy and developed infrastructure. It has become a very attractive expat destination in recent years, and if you decide to move to Cyprus permanently, you will surely discover a rich historical heritage, varied cultural influences, stunning mountainous landscapes and beaches, and enjoy the hot climate.

Moving to and Living in Cyprus

- Cyprus has an excellent public education system, and it is among the top three spenders on education in the EU. If you are moving to Cyprus with your children, you will need to find an appropriate international or local school.
- While Cyprus is still divided into a more prosperous south and a less developed north, there are a variety of employment opportunities in both regions. Some growing industries are tourism, the hotel and property sectors.
- The cost of living in Cyprus is lower than the UK, though not significantly. There are also a number of tax benefits for home-owners.
