The Move

The further you are moving the more preparation is required and the more in advance you should start planning. Britannia’s commitment to our customers is that we will combine the experience we have of International moving with our knowledge of the location you are moving to and tailor this around your specific needs. Britannia knows that only by paying attention to the finer details can we ensure the move meets our high standards.

Britannia recommends a visit from one of our Surveyors for all International moves. Our Surveyor will be able to assess the volume of goods you have to move, the packing requirements, route to delivery and discuss your move with you, so that you are comfortable with what is involved. Advice can also be offered on specific aspects of your move; timescales, transport of unusual items, pets and so on.

By meeting these objectives, Britannia can ensure that on the day of the move, our customers are prepared for the big day. With a comprehensive list of optional services such as export wrapping and insurance services, Britannia goes that bit further to make all the difference to the success of your International move.

Having designed the best move plan for you and agreed times, dates, schedules for shipment and delivery as well as helping you prepare for the move; you should be all ready for the Move Day. This will unfold as described in your Move Schedule which we will send you in the run up to your move. Our crew will arrive at the agreed time and being packing of your goods. They can mark and identify boxes as directed by you. After the packing has been completed, the truck or container (depending on which type of shipment you have selected) will be loaded.

The goods will then be taken away to the port of embarkation to be loaded onto the shipping vessel (Please note – Britannia will supply you with the name and number of the vessel). Having been loaded your shipment will take between 1 and 3 months to reach its port of destination. The precise length of shipment will be outlined in your Britannia paperwork.

On arrival at the port of destination, your goods will be cleared at customs and all requisite paperwork exchanged. Your goods will then be handed over to the Britannia crew or our Overseas Partner’s crew for delivery to your door, along with all appropriate documentation.
