House Removals Livingston

The largest town in West Lothian, Livingston was built as part of the New Towns Act of 1946, in part, to ease the overcrowding in Glasgow. It was one of five towns built and the first residents moved in April 1966. Therefore, many of the properties are postwar.

With Britannia Movers moving to or from Livingston couldn’t be easier. We have expert teams to help handle your move, as well as a variety of storage solutions if needed.

Moving to Livingston

Livingston has an average property price of £159,122, which is more expensive than nearby Dedridge, Eliburn and Howden. Livingston has a bit of everything. There are detached luxury homes boasting 6 bedrooms, and beautiful 4 or 5 bed family homes for little over £300,000. At the other end of the scale, a 1-bedroom bungalow that needs some work can be picked up for offers over £68,000 and an end of terrace 2-bed for £75,000.

Schools in Livingston

Parents in Livingston tend to pick a secondary school and work backwards when their children enter school age. There are four high schools in Livingston, with some more desirable than others. Ranked good by Ofsted and the most popular is St Margaret’s Academy. However, unless your child went to a Roman Catholic primary school, or is Catholic, chances of getting in are slim to none. Most parents also hold Deans Community High School relatively highly. James Young High School and Inveralmond Community High School are not high regarded.

Many parents tend to have their children attend schools in neighbouring towns, such as Linlithgow.

The nearest private school to Livingston is Clifton Hall, a 15-minute drive from Livingston. The school offers education to boys and girls from nursery age to 18.
