Over the weekend Britannia Movers has been deciphering the Government announcement from Saturday evening and liaising with our trade body the BAR and through them all relevant Government departments. Our clear understanding is that for now Britannia will continue to be able to operate our removal services for our customers.
Robert Jenrick the Housing Minister has confirmed ‘“Yes – the housing market will remain open throughout this period. Everyone should continue to play their part in reducing the spread of the virus by following the current guidance.”
The Government website also confirms: “You are free to move home. However, you may find the process of searching for and moving into a new home is different, as property agents, conveyancers and other professionals have modified how they work to reduce the risk from COVID-19”. The message goes on to encourage customers to operate ‘virtual’ viewings and surveys and since Britannia has our own video survey app we are able to provide virtual surveys for customers across our network.
Our advice to customers is to contact your local Britannia office directly to discuss your move, survey or questions. Since Britannia is a national company and there are some differences between the approach of England, Scotland and Wales it is best to discuss things directly with your nearest office to establish the precise requirements you have and their ability to meet your needs. You can do this by calling 0845 600 6661 or finding your nearest office’s contact details via this link – www.britannia-movers.co.uk/your-nearest-office.
It’s also important to underline that while we are able to perform our removal services, Britannia has instigated various additional measures to safeguard the safety of our customers and staff. We will need to continue to adopt these measures for the foreseeable future and ask all customers to play their part in assisting with these important adjustments. Finally our thanks to all our customers and staff for your support, assistance and patience during these challenging times.
