The Scottish Government has seen sufficient progress in suppressing the virus to enable them to move to implement phase 2 of the route map. They have announced a relaxation of restrictions on home moves which is scheduled to come into effect on Monday 29th June. Britannia’s Scottish offices have remained open throughout the lockdown with a skeleton staff assisting our customers. Any customer wishing to book a survey or a move should contact our offices immediately as initial demand will be high. Meanwhile in Wales, the First Minister of Wales has announced that the housing market in Wales can restart from Monday 22nd June, although on a fairly limited basis still with activities restricted to allowing house viewings to take place in vacant properties, and house moves only where a sale has been agreed but not yet completed. We are expecting further clarity to be provided in a guidelines document that the Welsh Government is due to issue over the next day or two.
