Britannia Movers International

New member joins Britannia

Britannia Movers International are continually looking for new members to join the family in the UK with some large areas being caretaken by members willing to handle work further outside their area until such times as a suitable removal company joins. For example, Gloucester was one such area with Britannia Bennetts kindly covering this area from Malvern and our thanks go to Judith and Alan for their efforts and assistance over the last few years.

So, without further ado we would like to give a very warm welcome to Britannia Herbert Davis Removals. Herbert Davis Removals has been in business since 1919.   Kathy Lugg (Managing Director) reported, “Andy Ford and I had the opportunity in 1998 to buy the company and we did this in partnership together in the June of that year.  It is a longstanding Gloucestershire company and I had been employed here since 1990 and Andy a couple of years later.  So, I knew it was a company worth taking a risk with.”

Kathy manages the office side of the business while Andy looks after the vehicles and as the Transport Manager – Andy undertakes the estimating and also still works on the lorries at times.

Kathy continues “Herbert Davis has five employees, three of them have been with us a very long time.  There is Simon Smith who joined in December 2002. Peter Jenner who joined September 2008, Ian Parry who has been with us since November 2005, Paul Williams who rejoined us in March this year and Lee Leather who actually only joined us this week (in anticipation for the work hopefully rolling in from the Britannia name!!!).  We also have a part time estimator”.

Kathy added “Around about 2002/3 we also bought out Jacksons Removals of Gloucester, who owned Herbert Davis when we first bought it.  The reason I mention that is that Jacksons were Britannia Jacksons of Gloucester for a while.  Can’t remember how long for.”

Congratulations on joining the Britannia family best wishes to a long and happy future with Britannia!
