About Highworth

Highworth is a market town in the borough of Swindon on the edge of the Cotswold’s. It gets its name from its high position on a hill and is the highest town in Wiltshire. It has a long history, having been mentioned in the Domesday Book and thought to have been continuously occupied for around 7,000 years. The town centre is home to 84 listed buildings, including many Queen Anne and Georgian buildings. There is also a Grade I listed church dating back to the 13-century.
