International Shipping in a Sole Use or Shared Container

Whether you have a whole household to ship, or only a limited number of effects, we can ship your effects to almost anywhere in the world.

Before your move and during the planning stage, our trained pre-move surveyor will complete a comprehensive pre-move survey with you, so that we have a better idea of what your specific needs are. During the pre-move survey, we will decide whether your effects will be shipped in their own container or as part of a shared load consignment. We will then create a detailed tailor-made move plan that will provide you with information about the moving schedule, the expected itinerary and will confirm everything that was agreed during the survey. This enables us to provide a quality removal service within your budget and that meets your requirements.

Most shipments are loaded into steel shipping containers. Sole use containers will generally be loaded outside your home and transported directly to the harbor for shipping. If you don’t have a whole household to move, or you don’t have enough effects to fill a whole container, these will be transported to our warehouse where they will be stored safely until being loaded jointly with other loads into a shared container to be shipped to the same destination.

Motor Vehicle Shipping

Should you wish to ship your motor vehicle to your new destination, Britannia can offer professional car shipping services, either in a sole use container or as part of a shared consignment. Before deciding to ship your motor vehicle, it is important to find out more about car shipping regulations as motor vehicles are often subject to duty and other special regulations.

To maximise the space in your sole use or a shared container, we build a secure wooden platform over your car to protect it and then place light items of household goods on top of the platform.

Air Freight

Items that you require urgently at the destination can be sent by air. Your belongings will be packed into airline approved cartons/crates and transported safely to the international destination.

Professional Packing Service

As your household effects have far to travel when shipped internationally, we use only the highest quality packing material paired with skilled and professional international packers.

We offer a full packing and wrapping service at your origin home and also unpack and unwrap at your destination home and remove all of the debris. Your items of furniture will be placed in your new home, where you want them.

Marine Insurance

We offer full insurance cover, to give you the peace of mind you require, while your valuable household goods are in transit from one country to another. Our insurance is underwritten by Lloyds of London.
