Why move to Glasgow?

Glasgow is the most populated city in Scotland and for good reason. It’s a lively hub of culture, with a rich history, exciting nightlife, vibrant arts and music scene, and plenty of protected green open spaces and parks. One of Glasgow’s slogans is “People Make Glasgow” and the city is known for its friendly and welcoming people.

Glasgow has so much to offer, with enough varied activities on offer to entertain everyone. Whether it’s visiting the Centre for Design, the Tennant’s Wellpark Brewery, having a bite to eat in one of Glasgow’s many independent eateries, or shopping from major brands in the shopping centre. Plus, Glasgow is well situated for easy access to the highlands, where there’s opportunity to hike and take in the breathtaking scenery.

Where to move in Glasgow

Glasgow has a variety of different districts that all bring different benefits to residents. Hillhead, in the West End, is very popular with young professionals, students, and also young families. While property in this area can be pricey, it has the advantage of being in the middle of Glasgow’s art and culture scene, with museums, galleries and independent shops.

Bearsden is one of the most expensive areas in Glasgow and is popular with families. There are many great quality schools here, as well as a nature reserve. Bearsden offers a slightly quieter way of life but retains easy access to the city centre via public transport.

Scotsoun is another popular area for families, but property here is more affordable for many. Located on the riverside, the area has many great schools as well as green spaces and attractions such as bowling and rock climbing. It also has easy access to the city centre, just 20 minutes by road or 15 minutes by train.

Shawlands brings the style of Hillhead but without the high property prices. This area in Glasgow has gorgeous parks and plenty of independent eateries and is only 10 minutes away from the city centre by train.
