About Us

Britannia Movers International (BMI) central office has been based in Merstham in Surrey since November 2016. Prior to that the office was based in Croydon for many years. The purpose of the central office is to provide operational, sales, marketing and shipping expertise to the Britannia Movers network of companies in the UK and its three overseas outposts in Spain, Johannesburg and Capetown (both in South Africa).

The central office has six departments providing support services to the Britannia group, numerous corporate clients and our overseas shipping agent network. With a fully operational warehouse acting as a shipping hub for groupage (shared load shipping containers), Britannia is able to put together outbound shared shipments to specific destinations quickly and efficiently. The shipping department also oversees distribution and deliveries of all inbound import containers.

Britannia Movers started out life in 1981 as a shipping conglomerate. Although UK domestic removals and storage as well as corporate moving have become staple categories of our business, shipping was very much a founding principle of the group. There is a heavy emphasis therefore on this sector and it’s at the central office where all overseas agent partnerships are managed from.

Apart from the shipping division, there is a corporate division providing services for UK and International moves to our business clients. These range from Government contracts, property developers, relocation companies, insurance firms and businesses from the retail sector. The central office corporate team provide a single easy to use channel to access the entire Britannia network, including our overseas partners.

The Sales and Marketing team provides expertise for the central office and also across the group. Creating marketing strategies, managing digital content on all online platforms including social media. The Sales team are responsible for negotiating corporate business partnerships as well as identifying added value commercial affiliations such as our IFX and Transfer My Bills arrangements offering customers additional advantages apart from their core moving service.

The central office is also tasked with seeking out group procurement opportunities and manging supply chain relationships. This helps identify savings for group purchasing and benefits for member companies within the Britannia group.

From a Customer Services perspective, Britannia Movers central office seeks to manage the reputation of the Britannia group and promote the positive feedback regularly received across all channels. The Customer Relations team are there to assist and support customers throughout their move experience with Britannia and ensure that services are delivered in line with Britannia’s commitments.
