Burnley is located in Lancashire at the confluence of the River Calder and River Brun. Transport Links Burnley
Burnley is just south of the M65 which runs from Preston in the west. For this reason, Preston is just a 40-minute drive away, whereas Manchester is a little further and just under one hour’s drive.
Burnley is served by numerous local and regional bus services, allowing commuters, school pupils, and residents to get from A to B easily.
Burnley also boasts three train stations: Burnley Central, Burnley Barracks, and Burnley Manchester Road. Burnley Central is a one-platform station with hourly services to Colne (eastbound) and Blackpool via Preston (westbound). Burnley Barracks runs on the same line as Burnley Central is just 800 meters westbound. For this reason, services from Burnley Barracks also run to Colne, Blackpool, and Preston. Burnley Manchester Road also takes passengers to the aforementioned stations but also Manchester Victoria, Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan Wallgate.
