About Britannia Perrys

Britannia Perrys is a family-run removals company with a proud history spanning over 70 years, offering trusted UK and international removals and storage solutions for homes and businesses across Hertfordshire, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and London.

Founded in 1952 by Jim Perry after he returned from Burma, the business began in a pair of derelict cottages in Broxted with a second-hand van, delivering haulage and removals while Jim worked a day job as an engineer. In 1972, Jim retired, passing the company to his sons, David and Bob, and his daughter Sheila, who continued to grow the family business. By 1979, Perrys had shifted focus entirely to removals, stopping haulage operations. In 1994, the business expanded further by acquiring the long-established Direct Removals of Bishop’s Stortford, becoming Perry Direct.

Today, Britannia Perrys remains firmly family-run under Nick and Jane Martin, upholding the Perry commitment to quality, reliability and exceptional customer service. Beyond removals, we are proud to support our local community and contribute to charities including the Red Cross, Headway Brain Injury and Accuro Care Services. Our dedication to people, both clients and community, continues to be at the heart of everything we do.
