About Worksop

Worksop is a market town in Nottinghamshire, located around 15 miles south of Doncaster and 15 miles southeast of Sheffield. The town has a rich history, dating back to the Anglo-Saxon times. It provides ample opportunity to explore the beautiful countryside and historic sites, being close to the Peak District, Sherwood Forest, and the National Trust’s Clumber Park.

Worksop isn’t only prized for its historic character. It has a vibrant shopping centre, with major high street brands, as well as independent local shops, and a regular market three times a week. Worksop is on the A57 and A60 roads, with links to the A1 and M1. Driving to Sheffield will take around 45 minutes and to Nottingham takes around an hour. Driving to Manchester from Worksop takes two hours.

Worksop buses connect the town and take residents further afield. Services include to Doncaster, Rotherham, Chesterfield, and Nottingham. Worksop also has a good cycle route and is connected to the UK Inland Waterways network via the Chesterfield Canal.
