Trade Shipping Services for UK Removal Companies
International Moving Made Easy for Trade Partners
Since 1981 Britannia has been helping its members to deliver fast, efficient and stress-free international moving services. Now, we’re proud to extend our first-class trade shipping service to all UK removal companies. Whether you’re an independent mover or part of a larger group, we make overseas removals faster, easier, and more reliable.
Groupage Shipping for Smaller Moves
Groupage is the most affordable way to ship household goods overseas, and the one chosen by most customers. If your customer’s shipment is too small to fill a container on its own, we can combine it with other removals consignments into a single container, reducing cost and minimising waste.
With Britannia, getting a quote for groupage shipping is easy:
- Survey the move and calculate your price as normal.
- Let us know the volume, the destination address, and your preferred UK drop-off point.
- We’ll provide a competitive quote, which you can incorporate into your own estimate.
When the job is booked, you will simply need to export wrap the consignment, make a full inventory, and drop the shipment into us. We’ll handle the rest, including customs clearance and delivery.
Support with Customs and Documentation
Our friendly and experienced shipping team can provide guidance and support on the required documentation and paperwork. The regulations vary from country to country, but your dedicated Export Coordinator will guide you through every step and make sure nothing is missed, advising in prohibited and restricted good to help save time and avoid delays.
Expert tip – As a starting point we will always require copies of your customer’s passport and visa.
Nationwide UK Drop-Off Points
Our main shipping hub is located in Redhill, Surrey. For the fastest processing, your consignments can be delivered directly to our warehouse.
However, if that’s not convenient just let the team know and they will organise a drop-off point at one of our nationwide Britannia depots. The local Britannia team will then bring it to Redhill on their next scheduled delivery.
Full Container Load (FCL) & Less Than Container Load (LCL)
We can also support you if your customer can fill a container on their own, which is known as a full container load (FCL). Typically we would recommend that you pack and wrap the goods and transport them back to your warehouse, and we can arrange for a container to arrive at a mutually agreed date for loading.
Where your customer has a small consignment and is moving to a destination that has very little traffic in household goods, it may be necessary to arrange a less than container load (LCL) shipment. This means that your customers belongings will need to be specially crated, as they will be sharing a container with different types of goods. LCL shipments are typically collected from your own warehouse.
Expert tip – always check that the container and door seals are in good condition before loading to ensure that the goods arrive in excellent condition.

Trade Shipping FAQs
Will you contact my customer directly?
No, you remain our primary contact throughout. We deal with you, and you manage all communication with your customer.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we can ship to most global destinations. The obvious exceptions would be active war zones or countries where international sanctions make it inadvisable or impossible.
What paperwork is required?
The required documentation varies from one country to the next, but our team will provide comprehensive support and guidance. Typically, all customers will need to supply copies of their passport and visa (where applicable) before their shipment can be loaded, and any additional documentation will need to be complete prior to the ship arriving in their destination country so we can clear the goods through customs.
How do you ensure quality destination services?
We only work with trusted, vetted partners who meet Britannia’s high service standards. Our destination agents are hand-picked, they are all accredited members of FIDI, IAM or both, and we continuously monitor feedback and review service levels to maintain consistency.
Does my customer need insurance?
Protection is vital for overseas shipments, so the customer must have an appropriate marine insurance policy or enhanced liability product in place before we can ship their consignment.
How do we get to you?
Our main shipping warehouse is just to the south of the M25 (and outside of the ULEZ) at:
