About Britannia Knightpacking

Since its start in 1973 as Dundee Removal Services Britannia Knightpacking has been owned by the Brown family, initially started by John Brown and now under the control of his son Scot.

Originally operating from home, John carried out local and long-distance domestic moving until he secured a premises for storage in 1984.  He began by renting storage space from another larger Company “Knightpacking Shipping & Warehousing” before renting his own premises in 1986 where he offered loose storage.

Scot came into the business in 2003 at which point they moved to a larger (but still rented) storage facility and invested in containerised storage and vehicles.  They had room for 180 storage containers.

After a period, they made the decision to buy out a competitor to allow them to enter into the international moving market. This Company was Knightpacking Shipping and Warehousing, the Company John had rented space from in 1984. At this point Dundee Removals began carrying out international shipping and the following year had the opportunity to enter the Britannia family by buying another competitor, Britannia Flight, who were the Britannia member for the Dundee area at the time.

Scot decided that it would be better to rebrand the business to Britannia Knightpacking as that name was synonymous with overseas moving in the area.

Since then, they have bought a 20,000sqft warehouse with room for over 400 containers and external 20ft shipping containers.

Dundee Removal Services (t/a Britannia Knightpacking) celebrated it’s 50 years in business in 2023 and continues to go from strength to strength.

We now have a team of 14 staff between Management, Office Administration and Operatives and carry out all moving services, including Domestic (local, National & Overseas) plus commercial moving and also domestic and commercial storage.
