Moving to Dundee
Dundee has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years. The award-winning V&A Museum of Design, which opened on the waterfront in 2018, has cemented the city’s reputation as a centre for culture and innovation. The £1 billion waterfront regeneration has brought new restaurants, hotels, and public spaces to the banks of the Tay, making this one of the most exciting places to live in Scotland.
The city offers a wide range of housing to suit every budget. The bohemian West End, home to the University of Dundee, is popular with students and young professionals, offering everything from affordable tenement flats to elegant Edwardian villas. To the north, the leafy suburbs of Broughty Ferry, Barnhill, and West Ferry attract families seeking larger period homes with easy access to both the city and the Angus coast.
Key Attractions
The V&A Dundee sits at the heart of a revitalised waterfront. Nearby, the RRS Discovery, Captain Scott’s famous Antarctic expedition ship. is permanently berthed and open to visitors. The McManus Galleries and Museum in the city centre houses an impressive collection of art and natural history, while Dundee Science Centre offers hands-on exhibits for families. Camperdown Wildlife Centre, Verdant Works jute museum, and Broughty Castle round out a rich cultural offer.
Dundee Transport Links
