Moving to Forfar

Forfar is the country town of Angus, Scotland. The traditional market town was once the centre of the ancient Kingdom of the Pits and is now home to the world renowned Forfar Birdie. This is a delicious crispy meat pastry traditionally eaten by local farm workers.

For an insight into Forfar’s history, art and industry, visit the Meffan Gallery and Museum. Here you can witness linen being hand woven. Wander through time in an old cobbled vennel, and peer into a knockmaker’s workshop. The Meffan also tells the sinister history of Forfar’s place in the 17th century as a home for witch hunts. If horticulture is your passion, then you can’t leave the area without a visit to Pitmuies Gardens, with its roses, herbaceous borders and woodland walks. Also, don’t miss the monthly farmers’ market which is enjoyed by visitors and locals alike throughout the year.

Forfar, with an overall average price of £185K in 2021, is similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Brechin, but is cheaper than Letham and Kirriemuir. Flats in Forfar can be purchased on average for £70K. On the opposite end of the scale are detached homes averaging £285K and Semi-detached £170K, terraced properties average selling price is £115K.

Britannia Knightpacking is located just 20 minutes away from Forfar, in Dundee. Therefore, we are perfectly situated to help you with your move to or from Forfar. We also have a variety of storage options available for those who require them.
